Spiritual Relationships

Spiritual Relationships
Encouragement, commitment, accountability, support– these are some of the words associated with spiritual friendships. Another is growth.  Spiritual friendships are relationships disciples have with other disciples.  It is in these friendships that disciples encourage each other, reinforce their commitment to the marks of discipleship, hold each other accountable as disciples and support each other in their successes and failures.  These friendships lead to the growth of faith in the disciple.

What is God up to?
God created people to worship God. Yet, worship is not for God’s sake, worship is for people’s sake. When people worship, people do well; God doesn’t do well. God is perfect and holy and complete whether we worship or not. We, on the other hand, are not complete unless we worship because we were created to worship.

What are we up to?
Making worship a meaningful experience for people—especially the un-, pre- and de-churched—so that they might know communion with God.
